The Little Blue penguin, also known as the Little Penguin or the Fairy penguin or their moari name is korora. Is found along the shorelines of southern Australia (including Tasmania) and a few parts of the north island in New Zealand. They are not found in Antarctica, like you might think they are they prefer warmer waters.

Most blue penguins in New Zealand breed when 3 between september and november band they do it in spring so when the eggs hatch it will be warm in summer. (Maybe it might be cold though.) The eggs take 2-3 months to hatch so the parents have to look after the eggs for that long and try not to die at the same time. Even when the egg hatchs the parents will still have to make sure that the baby and there selves don't die.

Generally, the females will lay two eggs. They must be incubated for a period of five weeks before they hatch. It is possible for the females to lay more eggs up through August of the same year. This is why the young are forced to leave their parents when they are from 57 to 80 days old.
